A BRIEF HISTORY

The university studies at the Department of Morphopathology are intended for students from Faculties of Medicine No. 1, Medicine No. 2, Dentistry and Preventive Medicine. Resident doctors in Morphopathology and other specialties are also trained here. Pathologists and cytologists follow refresher training courses offered by the Department. The main research topic consists in the dynamic study of morphological changes in atherogenesis. Overall, five Doctor Habilitated dissertations and 32 doctoral theses in medical sciences were defended, and 15 monographs and two thematic collections were published by the Department. The Department employees published over 300 scientific papers, including three textbooks (compendium-atlas) and a medical explanatory dictionary. Two inventions and 70 innovations have been registered.
